Nice rating bro.
And also there is another anime currently airing from DLE is "Sekai no Owari ni Shiba Inu to! (Doomsday with My Dog!)".
Also sorry but I'm gonna do a review as well and gonna piggyback with it in this reply.
Review: Human Bug Daigaku!(The Human Crazy University!)
Studio: DLE
Source material: Web c o m i c
As my buddy has mention this is one of those hidden gems that gets overlooked. One reason is it's animation since it's in fact simple and putting it co-m-ic motion animation which in ways the fame Queen Bee and two others studio's that make H's has similar and or better motion and or less, also known for with great art to the source material. Anyway this's one of those factors here but yet it brings it's charm.
What also makes up for it is the simple yet complex story line with good built characters which in fact as Noah put it " it's solid", lets also not forget that this mention quite of bit of history + trivia of irl world that made this even more amazing. Lets also count the VA's that did a great job in this.
As for this being a comedy, it's a dark humor base kind and the comedy didn't rally hit well until later when this was progressing into the last half if I had to guess but in the end it did live up to being a comedy. Also what makes this better is the ED's OST with that catchy "Human Bug." made in my top 10's ED, also the OP is also good.
As for final words if anyone is interested Studio DLE that's still currently airing "Sekai no Owari ni Shiba Inu to! (Doomsday with My Dog!)" which is cute and funny and also said to be the same way which is a literal co-m-ic motion animation piece with a different intake but making it simple being one of the best things to see.
My rating is 8/10
Fully agree.
What a perfect review that should've deserved the audience it got. You have my props, sir.
Great review Noah! I agree with you that the only downside to this anime was the animation. The story was actually quite good.
Indeed his review is great as always and yeah the animation is the only drawback but not everything needs to have the best animation.
Where's "Shinobi no Ittaki!!" is the polar opposite being good/decent animation but really crappy story and worthless character foundation.
Tbh I can't complain about animation with the story and all. I would also recommend everyone to check out Yamishibai.
I have it rated 9/10 too despite how bad the animation is, the story is really insane, it's like so complex and yet simple.
ah right, the skeleton bookseller, thats why the "animation" was something similar XD
Agree with Noah, 7/10, if the animation could hold up would go higher. Unfortunately didn't make it on my list. Cause passing was a bit to slow for comedy and it's too plain to be rememberable.
I have considered it for a while, but Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer won the last place over.
And here I'm surprised people are still watching Biscuit Hammer. o_O
ironically, it was so bad that it felt really refreshing. And i fancy animes which are not done by the book.
I'm giving "Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer!" 7/10 rating myself.
Meat and potatoes sounds nice right about now..
What a gem of a show, it will be missed 💯
I demand a 13th episode focused solely on Jack's torture session. For the full 24 minutes, no interruptions.
Didn't they just snap his neck, though? I clearly saw him being strangled.
He was probably just choked unconscious. The entire point of the Torture Sommelier is to make sure the target suffers as much as they deserve before they die.
Well, considering the guy's name, what he does to Jack is pretty much up to our interpretation.
I'm gonna just go with it being so gruesome that they couldn't show it.
He does the neck thing with rope on everyone to make them unconscious and brings back to torture cave. You can see he does it to the crooked police officer too.
Oh.
0:40 Jōji Kitō maybe into eating strange foods that shouldn't be eaten. But he has proven to be a GREAT Friend. Need more like him.
1:21 They get to the last episode and now add the enhanced Sound Efx for the OP and ED?
3:40 Mad Scientist, confirmed!!! Lol.
5:39 Oof, Lol.
10:14 Took me this long to realize that Hirofumi is the opposite force unto himself from the Final Destination films. Regardless how crazy the circumstances of death, he just survives.
11:55 I try not to wish death on anyone, but I will have my popcorn ready for Jack's!!!
13:12 Way to go Hirofumi with that cross!!!
14:10 Oh Shidd, from Ep 10.
14:29 You got to be kidding me!?!!
14:45 But there's no blood, I am hoping!!!
15:05 Muthphuccing YES!!!!!
15:39 Ruthless AF!!!
16:45 Lmao!!! Fitting, the one that tried to kill her, saved her instead.
17:19 True. I read this either in Popular Science or Popular Mechanics, many years ago.
19:40 Smh, Lol.
20:58 It's said, we all have a twin in this world. Literally, including the past.
21:51 The Professor has been a scene stealer since Ep 1, Lol!!!
22:10 Damn!!! Lol.
Not only have I thoroughly enjoyed this series, I really loved it. Especially the fact based accounts they used when something specific in the story pertains to it.
It was Ep 4, Penis Panic episode that had my saying no way. Then checked and it was all true. And by far, Ep 4 is the funniest of the series.
Just like Ranking of Kings, don't let the animation style throw you from a good story and characters. 8/10.
what.... is that ending
WHAT I NEED TO KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN
just a normal day at MC's life
cream puff stopping a bullet? lol and oh come on please dont let anything happen to that plane. also this anime was surely a bizarre surprise haha but im glad i sticked with it until the end. it was both crazy and educational
So… Does he finally die or what???
Stopping after punching Jack once is insane, toss him off the building or do literally anything to make sure he's not gonna just get back up and shoot your cream puff
he deserved a harsher end than that lol
beating and stalking Chie and getting Satake hung. Would've loved seeing him being chased after in fear and hunted his hanging a lot more slow and painful like waterboarding him and a heck of a lot more beating from his bludgeon. Just wanted to see it played out slowly and worse then what he did and actually get to watch him tortured.
Oh he's getting a harsh end. They didn't kill him in the chopper. Only knocked him out. He's going to be tortured to death
You know the anime is epic, when the opening in the final episode has SFX like jojo openings XD
And the anime ends, very nice ending, a very good show, a shame a lot never saw it, for me one of the best from the season ( ignoring sequels)
as for jack, i would like his torture to be all satake near death experiences
something like danganronpa final execution :v
Well another plane with more engine problems. Like lightning striking the same place twice. LoL. Seemed they added more sound effects in the intro and outro. Made it stand out like how Jojo does by flipping their last episodes intro around.
The plot might be good but I still can‘t stand the ‘‘animation‘‘…
Good fucking riddance.
clearly a hidden gem of this season!
with that ending hoping for another season ... like the plane crashing into the sea and hirofumi and chie surviving on a desert island like robinson crusoe until being rescued by joji ... and then the ship sink and they discover atlantis or something!
Great anime.
Awkward animation though.
Also; who is Satake san?
Endings very predictable but the anime was quite good
He is a regular run-of-the-mill glitch in the matrix.
Now THIS is one anime that I will super miss from the bottom of my heart! Please tell me there will be a season 2 of this??? It was both fun, educational, paranormal and occult! All the way from Stein Gate and made into a comedy and mystery! Pure genius and I don't mind the animation style being simple!
Overall Score: 10/10. The first I rate perfect overall!
Finally,he deserves some peace
This was a good anime. No matter what kind of anime you like, it takes someone with great taste to watch this and not care about animation.
The intro song kinda getting to Brain now.
another great Anime ended
satisfying ending to a satisfying anima
Human Bug Daigaku was brough to you by DLE, the studio behind Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san, collabed with Madhouse to release Okko's Inn (as well as the movie), Sekai no Owari ni Shiba Inu To, collabed with Production IG and LandQ Studios to release Sword Gai, and Henkei Shoujo! Some of you might remember Henkei Shoujo from that meme in 2017 where a loli drinks gas and turns into a car.
This show is gonna be one of those anime criminally underrated and gain a following long after the final episode aired. It's not everyday where you get an anime like this or OddTaxi, where on the outside, it looks normal, but on the inside, you're in for quite the ride as you dive into the meat and potatoes of the story. And OddTaxi's one of the best anime of 2021. Heck, people judged Ousama Ranking just from how the show looked, and like OddTaxi, it became one of the best anime of 2021.
I honestly love the story and characters from start to finish. The idiotic robbers Andre and Miguel are easily my favorites and steal the show whenever they appear onscreen! I also love the voice acting, with the legendary Sugita Tomokazu voicing Hirofumi, to Dio's VA Takehiko Koyasu voicing Shigeo Ijuin, and Hidenari Ugaki's performance as the Professor! The OP and ED are also quite solid!
The only real positive is the elephant in the room, the animation. While, yes, it's looks simple, if not cheap, personally, animation's not a big deal for me. As long as the story and characters are solid, I can overlook it. I mean, look at Kemono Friends for instance; the CGI is not good-looking, but the story and characters more than make it for it, and yet it's one of the best shows of 2017. We don't talk about Kemono Friends S2. Not EVERY anime needs to look like Mushoku Tensei or Violet Evergarden. Sometimes simple is better.
Overall, this is quite the fun ride, and easily not only one of my favorite anime this season, it's one of my favorite shows this year. OddTaxi (and other shows before it) taught us not everything is gonna be as it seems as times. Kemono Friends taught us you don't need fancy animation to stand out, and sometimes, simple is best. Ousama Ranking taught us to NOT judge a book by its cover, because you never know when you might be missing out on something. What matters is whether or not we, as anime fans, and as a community, LEARN from this. At any rate, this is a must-watch!
Final Verdict: 9/10
